A 97-year-old woman was murdered in Chandigarh after being robbed

CHANDIGARH: A woman identified as Joginder Kaur was found murdered after being robbed in her house in sector 8, Chandigarh. The suspect supposedly slit Joginder’s throat in her own house. The police have questioned everyone from the servants and neighbours to anyone who can be a suspect in this robbery turned into murder. The police are also waiting for the victim’s son to return from the United States of America. Kaur’s throat had been cut when she was discovered unconscious at her home.

She was rushed to Chandigarh’s Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, where she was pronounced dead. According to reports, Kaur’s post mortem has yet to be performed, and her body is being held in GMSH-16 at the mortuary. According to The Indian Express, the forensic science laboratory team collected samples from the scene on Saturday and took them to be examined. DSP Central Charanjeet Singh said, “We have informed the family members, the son of the victim woman, is expected to reach Chandigarh on Monday.”

The woman’s home also contained a servant area, according to sources. The quarters and the woman’s home were allegedly looted. The servants’ quarters’ wardrobes had been raided. After Joginder’s son or any other family member arrives in the UT, the police will gather information about valuables and other pricey objects in the house.
