Canada to extend its ban on Indian travelers

Canada welcomes passengers from the United States and the United States reports 100,000 new Covid cases every day. Due to the extension of the ban on direct flights from India, the only way for Indians to get to Canada is to go to a third country that allows Indian flights and get tested there, because Canada also does not accept Covid19 molecular test reports from India.

As many European countries, including the United Kingdom and France, eased travel restrictions in India due to the improvement of the Covid19 epidemic in India, Canada once again extended the ban on direct flights from India. The decision will be reviewed on or before September 21. This delay will affect students because they must now travel to a third country to get to Canada.

This is the fifth extension of the ban on direct flights to India since April. Due to the second wave of the pandemic, the ban was implemented in April and later extended. The Indian government has asked the Canadian government to lift the ban on direct flights in July due to the huge demand for round-trip traffic. The Indian High Commissioner in Ottawa, Ajay Bisaria, held talks with officials from Air India and Air Canada.
