On Friday, via video conferencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated and put the foundation stone of multiple projects in Gujarat’s Somnath.
The project which was initiated includes the Somnath Promenade, Somnath Exhibition Centre, and the reconstructed temple precinct of Old (Juna) Somnath. The Foundation stone of Shree Parvati Temple was also put by Prime Minister.
Vijay Rupani was present there at the event. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister of State for tourism Shripad Niak were also there via video conference.
The total cost suggested for the construction of the Temple is Rs 30 crores. In which temple construction in sompura salats style, development of Garbha Griha and Nritya Mandap.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new vision to the development of Somnath in last ten years,” stated Gujrat Chief Minister.
The developments at the Somnath will attract tourists at the temple,” Mr Amit shah said
Somnath Promenade has been developed under the PRASHAD which is Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive Scheme at a cost of over Rs 47 crore which is 1.48 kilometres long. It will also provide an opportunity for youth.
We need to strengthen religious tourism,” PM Modi said after the inauguration. He also praised the projects and said, “this will also provide employment to youth. Youth will also get knowledge about our past.”
