Due date for e-filling of various Income Tax has been extended by government

NEW DELHI: On Sunday Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) released an official statement on Twitter about filling of various forms of taxes that come underact,1961.

The official Twitter handle of CBIC says ” In order to benefit taxpayers, who could not file their returns in time due to various reasons, closing date of late fee amnesty scheme & time limit for filing of an application for revocation of cancellation of registration has been extended.”

The statement issued by CBIC gives big relief to taxpayers as the deadline for filing all the taxes has been extended by the government. The previous deadline for filing tax was 31/08/2021 which is extended till 30/11/2021 now. One of the reasons behind this is the difficulties faced by many taxpayers while filling online forms.

The statement says this extension will benefit a large number of taxpayers, especially small taxpayers who could not file their returns due to various reasons, mainly because of the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and whose registration were cancelled due to the same.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also retweeted the same tweet on her account.
