NEW DELHI: India’s active Covid-19 cases drop to 3,01,989. The country also witnessed 383 deaths, taking the death toll to 4,45,768. The active cases comprise 0.90 percent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.
So far, India has recorded 3,35,31,498 corona cases in total and reports 34,167 new recoveries, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday.
The national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.77 percent, the highest since March 2020, the Ministry said.
A reduction of 7,586 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.69 percent, the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.08 percent, according to the Ministry.
Delhi reported 39 Covid-19 cases and no fatality. Kerala recorded 15,768 new Covid-19 cases and Maharashtra 3,131 cases. The 383 new fatalities include 214 from Kerala and 70 from Maharashtra.
The cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country crosses 82.65 crores.
The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from Covid-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level, the Ministry said.
