2021 International Emmy Awards nominations: India aiming for big wins

NEW DELHI: It is a great year for the Indian filmmaking industry as the International Emmy Awards 2021 has nominated 3 Indian projects in major categories.

Nawazuddin Siddique has been nominated for the Best Actor category for his role in Serious Men a Bombay Fables / Cineraas Entertainment / Netflix India production film.

Vir Das : For India has been nominated in the category of Comedy, it’s a comedy special made by Vir Das himself and Weirdass Comedy / NetflixIndia .

Aarya : the Sushmita Sen starrer crime drama web series on Disney+Hotstar, it has been nominated in the Best Drama Series category, under Ram Madhvani Films / Endemol Shine GroupIndia.

There are 44 Nominees across 11 categories and spanning a record number of 24 countries.  The announcement for the winners will be at an in-person ceremony in New York on November 22, 2021.

The International Emmy Awards recognizes excellence in TV programming that is produced initially outside the United States. They have been presented annually by the IATAS since 1973. The award ceremony generally takes place in November in New York City.

All nominated program trailers and exclusive Nominee interviews will be featured online during the International Emmy® World Television Festival from November 12 to 22 on the International Academy’s website www.iemmys.tv.
