Krunal Pandya shows ‘spirit of cricket’ in IPL match against PBKS

DUBAI: Cricket is called a gentlemen/women’s game and rightfully so. Now and then we keep on seeing such instances that fill us with joy and respect for the players. One such moment was witnessed in today’s match which could be proudly termed by far as one of the best ‘spirit of cricket’ moments.

Mumbai Indians in today’s match is playing against Punjab Kings. Both teams are supposed to win the match, to continue their session and remain in the run of play-offs. The Mumbai India all-rounder during the match denied appealing for a run out which hit the off strike payer.

In the sixth over of the first innings, Chris Gayle playing on strike, by mistake hit KL Rahul standing on the other end. The ball after hitting K L went straight to Krunal. As an impulsive reaction, Krunal took the ball and hit the wicket during which Rahul had stepped outside the crease, possibly because of the pain from the ball hit.

Krunal fastly appealed for a run-out but within seconds, upholding the “spirit of cricket” he denied the appeal and went on to throw another ball. The netizens and every people seeing this moment praised Krunal for the tremendous gesture in the do-or-die match.

KL Rahul happiness was short-lived, as in the next over, Kieran Pollard took the wicket of KL while batting at 45 runs. But fans were happy and seen praising Krunal all over the internet for the outstanding “spirit of cricket” gesture.
