CHANDIGARH: Navjot Singh Sidhu, the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee’s chief, resigned on Tuesday. Sidhu, on the other hand, stated in a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi that he will continue to serve the party. Sidhu became the state party’s leader in July of this year.
In the letter he stated, “The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab”.
He further wrote, “Therefore, I hereby resign as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Will continue to serve the Congress”.
Captain Amarinder Singh in a tweet said that, “I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of Punjab.”
