National heartthrobs Rashmika and Vicky Kaushal criticized over new ad

MUMBAI: Recently, an underwear brand launched a new advertisement starring two actors, Rashmika Mandana and Vicky Kaushal, often claimed by netizens as the “national crushes”. Even though the popularity of these two actors is very high, but the netizens took a negative dip at both the actors due to the content of the ad.

People bashed the actors for starring in the new ad that promotes vulgarity. The ad shows the Dear Comrade female lead as a yoga instructor while Vicky performed yoga in her studio. The part where Rashmika looks at the underwear strap of Vicky was highly criticized.

In addition to that, the ad shows Rashmika keeping the yoga mat at the top drawers to see the lining of his underwear while he reaches out for the yoga mat. The advertisement wasn’t taken nicely by the social media users.

A lot of comments and tweets suddenly were made showing the disappointments of fans in their favourite movie stars. Some of them highlighted the fact that if it was done to a female, it would be a topic of the issue, so why it should be normal to use a man for the same.

An interesting turn to the ad was that some of the big movie pages applauded this ad stating that it would change the world into a place where the female gaze is normal while some found it revolutionizing for using females in an underwear campaign. A lot of debate and disappointment is visible on the net after the launch of the ad.

For people who are unaware, Rashmika Mandana is a popular female actor of the South famous for her films such as Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. Rashmika is currently working with Sidharth Malhotra in Mission Majnu and Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye for her Bollywood debut. Her look for a Pan-Indian movie with Fahadh Faasil and Allu Arjun was recently released. The Uri actor, Vicky Kaushal is also busy with his schedule and is preparing for the release of Sardar Udham Singh.
