Chacha Chaudhary is now the mascot of ‘Namami Gange’ programme

NEW DELHI: The famous comic character, Chacha Chaudhary, is now the mascot of Namami Gange programme. It has been done in order sensitise children and youths of the country about the cleaning of river Ganga along with other rivers.

Rajiv Ranjan Mishra, the Director General of National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) confirmed that the executive committee of NMCG has decided upon engagement with Chacha Chaudhary. He also said that the name of the comic will be, “Ganga ki baat, Chacha Chaudhary ke saath.”

In the previous years as well, NMCG has undertaken numerous public outreach programmes like Ganga Quest, and even a television series was made named ‘Rag Rag Mein Ganga. Therefore, ‘Ganga ki baat, Chacha Chaudhary ke sath’ will be yet another activity in this area. Interestingly, in this series, Chacha Chaudhary will talk to other comic characters about the significance of keeping river Ganga clean.

It must be noted that the content regarding the same will be designed with the objective of bringing positive behavioural change amongst children not just towards river Ganga but other rivers, too.

About the usage of language in this programme, Mishra said that the comic will initially be launched in Hindi, English, and Bengali.
