Ravinder Dahiya loses Bronze at World Wrestling Championship

OSLO: Currently, World Wrestling Championship is taking place in Oslo, Norway. Due to a one-sided match win early this morning, Ravinder Dahiya, the Indian wrestler, entered into the Bronze playoffs. But the results did not come as expected for the player.

After an incredible win against Bulgaria’s Georgia Valentinov by 0-8 this morning, the Indian player got a chance to show his talents and seal a medal for India at the Championship. Wrestler Dahiya was against the reigning European Champion who outwitted him during the medal round.

Armenian Arsen Harutyunyan defeated Dahiya with his excellent counterattack in the 61kg category. The bout finished in just 2 minutes and 16 seconds with a technical point in Arsen favour.

And though Ravinder even reached the medal round, other Indian players didn’t get to see beyond the pre- quarter-finals. Pankaj Malik, able to win the qualification round in 57kg, faced defeat in the pre-quarterfinal to Turkey’s Suleyman Atli, the 2019 world silver medalist by 10-0.
