Social media sites down in the global internet outage

NEW DELHI: Social media has given us the power to communicate and connect even with people far away. But the power got dampened when the social media sited on Oct 4th shut down globally.

Around 9:30 PM people around the globe started facing problems on Whatsapp. According to a survey site, the number of users who faced the problem on WhatsApp amounted to up to 14,000. Along with WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram too are facing the same problem.

The users of Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp are unable to send videos, images or messages and download anything. Thousand of people are complaining about the outage every minute.

The world’s top social media Facebook outage is not something new. There have been many instances in the past where the messaging apps were facing complete shit down. But the one new thing is the amount of time it is taking for Facebook to solve the technical problem.

More than two hours already passed since the problem originated and thousands of users complained about it. Whatsapp issued a statement saying, “We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.” 

The official account of Instagram tweeted, “Bear with us, we’re on it“. Meanwhile, Twitter is flooded with a lot of memes and hilarious comments pointing to this global outage.
