MADHYA PRADESH: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of Svamitva scheme which stands for Survey of Villages And Mapping With Improvised Technology In Village Areas. This interaction took place between the prime minister, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh– Shivraj Singh, and the beneficiaries via video conferencing.
At the same time, as confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office, e-property cards to 1,71,000 beneficiaries were distributed by the prime minister under the scheme.
It must be noted that Svamitva scheme is a scheme of the Union ministry of panchayati raj. Under this, the way for the usage of property as a financial asset by villagers for taking loans and other financial benefits, like in urban areas, will be paved.
At the same time, the scheme will also aim to demarcate inhabited lands in rural areas through the latest surveying drone-technology.
The significance of Svamitva scheme is that it will aim to provide property rights to the residents of rural areas, and will also bring financial stability to people by enabling them to use their property as financial asset for taking loans and other financial benefits. Simultaneously, the scheme will also lead to creation of land records for rural planning and determination of property tax.
