S. Jaishankar’s 3-day visit to Israel next week: What is in store for India?

NEW DELHI: Sunday, October 17 2021, The External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar will be on a 3-day visit to Israel next week for strengthening bilateral ties with the newly formed Israeli Government under Naftali Bennet.

Mr Jaishankar will be taking a one day halt in between in Dubai, UAE or discussing various issues with its leadership. He will, then, continue his journey to Tel-Aviv where meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, and other members will take place.

“What is in store for India?” It is the foremost question whose answer will arrive in the coming days and a close watch will be kept on it as well but taking into consideration the close friendship of India and Israel it is hoped that the meetings will prove fruitful.

Dr Jaishankar has been invited officially by Yair Lapid, the head of the Centrist Atid Party, also known as alternate PM, who will be taking over the position from Naftali Bennet in 2023 under the agreement that lead to the coalition government’s formation.

On Friday, Alon Ushpiz, the Director-General of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, tweeted,” Happy Dussehra to all of you. India is a strategic partner and a very close friend.”
