Singhu Border Murder case: Another Nihang surrendered, 2 more arrested for allegedly killing Lakhbir Singh, Rakesh Tikait accuses central government for the incident

NEW DELHI: Another person “surrendered” on Saturday in connection with the lynching of a 35-year-old labourer, Lakhbir Singh, near the Delhi-Haryana border in Singhu. Narain Singh, a Nihang Sikh like Sarabjit Singh, is being held by the Amritsar Rural Police and claims Lakhbir Singh was killed because he “desecrated” the Sikh sacred book.

According to reports, the two other Sikhs were Bhagvant Singh and Govindpreet Singh, they are the two Nihangs who hanged the labourer on the barricade while Sarabjit Singh chopped the wrist and Narain Singh cut the leg of the victim.

Amidst the arresting and presenting Nihangs in court, Rakesh Tikait, the leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), has accused the Centre of conspiracy and is attempting to degrade the situation near Singhu border where farmers are demonstrating against three farm regulations by calling the Singhu lynching a “religious matter”.

Rakesh Tikait has condemned the government for killing Lakhbir Singh and demanded that the lynching at the Singhu border not be linked to the farmers’ protest. Tikait told ANI that the incident was a government ploy, and that the government can deteriorate the situation at the border at any time.
