ROME: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with the top EU leaders and deliberated on spectrum of issues. He stated it as a “productive interaction” sstrengthening India-European Union’s relations.
“Wonderful meeting with @EU_Commission President @vonderleyen and @eucopresident Charles Michel. We had wide-ranging talks on deepening the India-EU friendship, particularly in areas such as trade, commerce, culture and the environment”, tweeted PM Modi after his meeting with the President of European Council Charles Michel and President of European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
Leyen said in her tweet “Good to meet @narendramodi. Our 🇪🇺🇮🇳 strategic agenda is on the right track. We agreed that our trade negotiators will start to work. We‘ll deepen our cooperation on climate including on innovation & technology Looking forward to cooperating in the Indo-Pacific #EUGlobalGateway”. She also appreciated India’s progress in vaccination and its resuming of vaccine exports. She called for join efforts to ‘beat the global pandemic’.
Michel, European Council President tweeted about his meeting with PM Modi and marked the important role India has to olay in ‘green transition’.
Conclusively PM Modi’s meeting is crucial in strengthening the India-EU diplomatic relations and its friendship in areas such as trade, political, security, culture and environment. The meeting would define the trajectory of relations in the post-pamdemic world order.
