Surya and Jyothika donates Rs. 1 crore to Irular Educational Trust

CHENNAI: Actor Surya and his wife actress Jyothika meets CM MK Stalin and donates Rs 1 crore to Irular Pazhangudi Educational Trust, on behalf of 2D Entertainment. Apart from acting, actor Surya always indulges in many social services. He also runs a trust of his own, named the Agaram Foundation, where he educates a lot of students around the state.

Surya’s latest film which depicts him as an advocate is a biopic of retired Justice K Chandru’s, where he upholds that the Irular tribal people were being falsely accused of the crimes and beaten up to custodial-death and seeks justice for them. Also, the movie is now getting a whole lot of positive responses.

“Watched Jai Bhim yesterday. Memories of the movie left me with a heavy heart all night. You have proved that there is no better way to film and portray the struggles faced by the Irular community. Though it is a film based on a particular incident, the impact it made among the viewers is powerful”, said the CM, praising the film and for Surya his generous gesture of this.

“You people have shown how law and justice could wash away any kind of misery. You deserve appreciation for choosing, acting and producing a product like this”, he added.
