Virginia’s new Governor – Glenn Youngkin. A setback for Biden

WASHINGTON: Glenn Youngkin, a Republican wins the gubernatorial election of the United States of America to become 74th Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The election took place for two states Virginia and New Jersey.

Youngkin former Co-CEO of Carlyle Group resigned from the post to concentrate on public service in 2020. This was his maiden attempt to contest in elections. Former President Trump campaigned for him.

The update on New Jersey remains a close encounter between the incumbent Democrat Phil Murphy and Republican contestant Jack Ciattarelli. This was expected an easy win for Murphy but the results showcase a nail-biter.

These two states voted for Joe Biden to become president last year. The abrupt change of the voter’s decisions will influence the US Congress elections – 2022. It will be a setback for Biden & Democrats.
