Greta Thunberg calls, UN COP26 a “failure” and “business as usual”

GLASGOW: Climate Activist, Greta Thunberg has called the recent United Nations 26th Climate Change Conference (COP26) a “failure” and “business as usual”.

Thunberg called COP26, “A two-week-long celebration of business as usual”. She further called it an “Event where leaders are giving beautiful speeches and making fancy commitments. And are not taking any serious action against climate change.”

She added that we can not resolve climate change with the traditional methods. “Leaders are actively creating loopholes to benifit themselves”, she further said.

In a tweet, while sharing her speech Thunberg said, “Many are asking what it’ll take for people in power to wake up. But let’s be clear – they’re already awake. They know exactly what they’re doing. They know exactly what priceless values they’re sacrificing to maintain business as usual.”

Thunberg holds the governments of the global north responsible for the damage to the climate. As she was giving a speech amongst protesters for ‘Fridays for Future’ at Glasgow during the COP26.
