Continue the protest, till the laws are being revoked at the parliament: Rakesh Tikait to the farmers

NEW DELHI: Rakesh Tikait, the leader of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU), said the Centre’s announcement on revoking the three farm laws appears to be an election contrivance, today.

While speaking to the media people, Rakesh Tikait said that “This result also appears to be an election contrivance, given how the plan of Centre is being destroyed and their image is getting affected. They are working under the stress of the companies, only to prosper them.”

The Bhartiya Kisan Union leader urged the farmers to continue the agitation, till the laws are officially being evacuated in Parliament. “Farmers will proceed to agitate until the laws are seized back in Parliament. MSP Guarantee Act has to be formed. This is a victory for farmers. The victory is dedicated to more than 750 farmers who died and to tribals, workers and women who became a part of this agitation,” he said.

Farmers from Punjab, Haryana and UP came to the border of Delhi on the 26th of November, last year, urging the annulment of three farm laws –
1. The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce Act
2. The Farmers Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act
3. The Essential Commodities Act.
