CHENNAI: The upcoming semester exams of the University of Madras will have familiar and direct questions to ease back students to the offline mode.
Offline exams will begin on January 20, after a long gap of 18 months. The institution has postponed the exams by two months to give more time for preparations, after the students’ protest.
Further, the evaluation of answer sheets is likely to be lenient and there will not be any changes in the question paper pattern.
The institution, earlier, planned to begin semester exams from the first week of December and for first-years, it was planned after the Pongal holidays.
However, it has now been decided that the exams for all students, including those in the first year, will be conducted after January 20th.
Many autonomous institutions have planned to train their students for the exams in the meantime, as they have completed their portions. “The classes have been conducted in a blended mode this semester. So, we will inform all students to come to attend offline classes to prepare them for exams”, said Mr Santhosh Babu, the principal of DG Vaishnav College.
Also, engineering colleges are planning to commence offline classes and conduct model exams as preparations for the semester.
