Petrol prices reduced by Rs 8 in Delhi: A sigh of relief to Delhites

NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, the petrol prices have been reduced by Government of NCT of Delhi giving relief to the Delhites. Arvind Kejriwal informed on Twitter that Government has lowered the VAT from 30% to 19.40%.

The step taken by the Delhi government of lowering the VAT to 19.40% has resulted in lowering the petrol prices by Rs 8. The new rates will get active from midnight today. After this reduction, the petrol prices have come down below Rs 100 per litre and the new rates from midnight will be Rs 95.97 per litre from the present Rs 103.97 per litre at the Indian Oil pumps.

The decision was taken at the cabinet meeting headed by CM Arvind Kejriwal. On November 4, the Central Government reduced the Excise Duty on petrol and diesel thus, reducing the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 per litre.

Now, after the decision, the price of petrol in Delhi has come nearer to that of Noida where it is Rs 95.51 per litre.
