On New Year’s Day, the Indian and Pakistani armies exchange sweets along the Line of Control in Kupwara, J&K

KUPWARA: On New Year’s Day, Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged greetings and sweets along the historic Teethwal crossing bridge in the Kupwara area of north Kashmir.

Officials from the Indian Army greeted Pakistani Army and offered a message of peace and unity. The Pakistan Army authorities were grateful and reciprocated the gesture.

According to a spokesman from Army, all sides observed the relevant Covid-19 standards during the sweets exchange.

Residents in the Teethwal region, meanwhile, were thrilled by the gesture and applauded it. They urged the Indo-Pak leadership to continue this peaceful practise in the future so that people can live in harmony.
